You do not need advanced marketing skills to promote your event. These practical steps can help more people find your event and buy tickets.
Step 1: Promote your event on Facebook
Create a public Facebook Event
- Add your event ticket link in the Add Tickets section of the event setup
- Use a clear image and simple event details
- Ask committee members and volunteers to select Interested or Going
- Keep the event public so more people can find it
Add a Get Tickets button to your Facebook Page
- Open your Facebook Page and select the three-dot menu near the top right.
- Select Add Action Button.
- Select Get Tickets, then select Next.
- Select Link on Website and paste the FrontDoor+ event link from the Promote section of the Admin Portal.
Open the FrontDoor+ Admin Portal
Share posts containing the ticket link
- Include the ticket link in the post
- Avoid posting the link only in the comments
- Use a simple caption that explains what is happening and why it is exciting
- Tag partners who may share your post, including sponsors, vendors, performers, your venue, and FrontDoor+
Post in local Facebook groups
Look for groups such as:
- What’s happening in your town
- Local events this weekend
- Things to do in your region
Share your event with the ticket link. This is a free way to reach people in your area.
Monitor the comments
Delete comments from fake profiles offering to sell extra tickets. This helps protect guests from scams.
Step 2: Promote your event on Instagram
- Use simple, bright images. Photos of people, animals, food, or attractions at your event often perform best.
- Add the ticket link to your bio with a short note such as Buy Tickets.
- Post reminders and Stories about early bird pricing, one-week countdowns, behind-the-scenes activity, and reasons to buy today.
- Ask committee members to like and share your posts.
Step 3: Add the ticket link to your website
- Use a large Buy Tickets button near the top of your homepage
- Link directly to the FrontDoor+ event page
- Add the link to event or schedule pages
- Keep event information simple and consistent
- For a dedicated event page, one image, a few details, and a prominent Buy Tickets button are enough
Step 4: Contact community and tourism partners
Look for organizations that promote things to do in your area, including:
- Tourism boards
- Municipal websites
- Local radio stations and newspapers
- Community bulletins
- Regional event listings
- Local bloggers or influencers
Send them:
- Event name
- Date or dates
- One event image
- Ticket link
Many organizations will share the event for free.
Step 5: Use posters signs and QR codes
The FrontDoor+ Promote screen provides a QR code for your event. Add it to:
- Posters
- Signs
- Handouts
- Bulletin boards
People can scan the code with their phone and buy tickets immediately.
Step 6: Ask your committee to share
Ask each board member, director, or volunteer to share the event link on Facebook or Instagram. Their combined networks can help the event reach many more people.
