Thank you for volunteering at the gates or doors. This guide explains how to check in guests using the FrontDoor+ Scanner App.
The app is designed so anyone can learn it in a few minutes. You help keep the line moving and are often the first friendly face guests see.
Watch the walkthrough video
If you prefer to learn by watching, the short video demonstrates how to scan tickets and check in guests.
Tickets you may see
- A ticket on a phone, opened from an email or digital wallet
- A ticket printed on paper
Download the app
Apple Devices: Download from App Store
Android Devices: Download from Google Play
Your event organizer may provide a device with the app already installed. Ask before your shift begins.
- Open the FD+ Guest Check-In App.
- Enter the PIN provided by the organizer.
- If the device is already signed in, the app will open the scanner main menu.
Use the main menu
The main menu has two options:
- Scan Ticket for scanning QR codes
- Find a Guest for searching by name or email address

Scan a ticket
- Select Scan Ticket.
- Press and hold the Hold to Scan button.
- Hold the device camera over the QR code.
- Wait for the scanner to read the code automatically.
Green checkmark
- The ticket is valid.
- The guest’s name appears. Select View More Tickets if the guest bought more than one ticket.
Red X
- The ticket cannot be used.
- The app shows a reason, such as Already Scanned or Invalid Ticket.
If you scanned the wrong ticket, select Undo. Otherwise, select Finish.

Find a guest manually
- Select Find a Guest from the main menu.
- Enter the guest’s name or email address.
- Select the guest from the results.
- Select the ticket you want to scan. The ticket will be marked as used.
Use this option if the guest cannot find the ticket or the QR code will not scan.

Tips for success
- Stay calm. The app will guide you if something goes wrong.
- Turn off the screen between uses to save battery.
- If you are using your own device, fully charge it and bring a charger or power bank.
- Ask the event organizer for test tickets so you can practise before the gates get busy.
- Smile and welcome guests. A friendly greeting makes check-in a better part of the event experience.
